Recently received the notice of the Ministry of Science and Technology, after several months of pre-declaration, letter review, and formal declaration of the layers of review, the Ministry of Science and Technology national key research and development project (original 973 project) declared by Shenzhen Cell Valley as the lead unit "Gene modified immune cell therapy key technology and product development (application demonstration class)" entered the final defense link. On the morning of October 21, the project leaders and project backbone from ten participating units such as Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, China Agricultural University, and Shenzhen Hospital of Peking University gathered in Shenzhen Cell Valley to participate in the project declaration seminar before the defense sprint.

The meeting was presided over by Professor Shi Yuanyuan, general manager of the project and chairman of Shenzhen Cell Valley. Professor Wan Xiaochun, Chief expert of National Key Research and Development Project, Deputy Director of the Institute of Medicine, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Wu Fengfang, Director of the Central Laboratory of Shenzhen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (Longgang), Li Kedeng, Deputy Secretary-General of China Foundation for International Science Exchange, and Dr. Kang Xi, Researcher of Translational Medicine Center of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory attended the seminar as special invited experts. More than 20 people attended the meeting, including Professor Wang Jianxun, Chief scientist of Shenzhen Cell Valley, Professor Cui Hengfu and Professor Zhang Xinyue of Jiangsu Yinuovitech, Director Chen Junhui and Dr. Xu Yanwei of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, Dr. Li Xiaorui of College of Biology of China Agricultural University, and Dr. Ma Yipeng of Shenzhen Innuovitech.

At the seminar, experts were invited to give professional guidance to the project team, and put forward many valuable suggestions to the project team from the aspects of research background, domestic and foreign research status, core concept definition, research value, research objectives and content, research plan, innovation highlights, and expected results. The experts fully affirmed the preliminary preparation work, topic selection and research value of each research group, and gave logical and careful improvement suggestions from the aspects of focusing on highlights and advantages, close to the assessment index, the overall logic closed-loop, and expected transformation results.

Professor Shi Yuanyuan, the chief scientist of the project, said that each research group should cherish the valuable learning opportunity of the experts' visit to the site, and carry out the preparation work before the project defense firmly and effectively in strict accordance with the experts' suggestions.

This seminar promoted the communication and interaction between the participating units of the project team, solved the problems existing in the process of project declaration, and provided a high degree of guarantee for the efficient completion of the declaration task and the smooth defense of subsequent projects.
